The Red Hood is a side character in Injustice, and Tim Drake is dead in the comics, so both of them are probably out. So with Damian evil and Nightwing, Batman has an opening for a new Robin!Īnd I vote for Carrie Kelley to come in and take the mantle. Damian is an even bigger turd in this universe than normal. After Dick died, Damian decided to join Superman and became a bad guy, adopting the Nightwing identity at the same time. Dick Grayson died early into the story, at a time when Damian Wayne was Robin. Unfortunately, the Robins have a pretty crummy storyline in the Injustice universe. I’m a huge Robin fan, so I was a little grateful that Robin was a playable character in Injustice 2 (we had Nightwing in the first game). And of the few they haven’t featured yet, I’ve got some suggestions for Injustice 3! The games feature dozens of classic and modern DC heroes and villains. In the sequel, which is what I’m currently playing, an invasion by Brainiac forces the two sides to work together to defeat the stronger foe, with the previous tensions still bubbling under the surface. Batman takes the other half of the League to oppose him and restore freedom to the world. In these games, the death of Lois Lane causes Superman to snap and he turns into an authoritarian dictator, with half the Justice League backing him up. These games follow their own unique storyline and aren’t connected to the comics (though the Injustice series does have its own tie-in comic). The two games released so far are Injustice: Gods Among Us and Injustice 2. Until then, I’ve got a few ideas for what superheroes and villains need to appear in the next game, should they make an Injustice 3! Join me after the jump for my ideas!īefore we get started, let’s get the basics out of the way. Hopefully another video game will come along soon to break me out of this loot-grinding rut! I just like seeing all the superheroes dressed up in fancy new duds. It’s not like I compete on any multiplayer level, or that I’ll be saving the outfits to share with anybody. A lot of these court documents have had some nice, juicy information within them, but generally have not had any bombshells quite like this as some of the really wild stuff has been redacted from the public. The outfits don’t mean anything. Insomniac Games has been hard at work on a Spider-Man franchise for the better part of a decade now for PlayStation, so it's more than likely that this is what was being referenced. Unfortunately, this seems like a typo/error on the part of Microsoft's lawyers and they've mistaken Superman for Spider-Man. While this sounds incredibly exciting and even possible given Sony and Warner Brothers have worked closely in the past, it is likely not accurate. With all of that said, there's high demand for a Superman game.Īccording to Microsoft as part of the ongoing Activision acquisition drama, it claimed in a documentthat PlayStation is developing an exclusive Superman game. Of course, Superman will also appear as an antagonist in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but it doesn't seem like he will be playable in any capacity. Batman became the leader in superhero gaming for a time and the only appearances we got from Superman was via the Injustice or LEGO games. The last console Superman game was in 2006 with Superman Returns, which was mostly solid, but for whatever reason WB wasn't interested in doing more solo Superman games or simply wasn't able to see them through to the end. Superman is one of the most iconic characters of all-time, but he has been greatly underrepresented in gaming. Microsoft claims that a new Superman game is in the works from PlayStation. The entire point of playing a Superman video game is to utilize his laundry list of powers however, having unrestricted access to the Man of Tomorrow's powers would essentially break any game's difficulty scale.Īccording to, Microsoft says that PlayStation has an exclusive Superman game in development. One of the main factors prohibiting the Strange Visitor from Krypton from anchoring a great series of games is his multitudinous roster of abilities. Despite being one of the most iconic characters in all of fiction, it has been decades since Superman has had a solo game series. Since the much-maligned Superman 64, the Man of Steel's outings in the video game space has ranged from abysmal to mediocre. However, one of Superman's least publicized weaknesses is his inability to take flight in the world of video games. In addition to the irradiated rocks from his home planet, Superman is also vulnerable to red sunlight, magic, and middle-aged, edge-lord directors obsessed with slow-mo and speed ramping. Even though most people believe kryptonite is Superman's only weakness, he actually has several.
